Modern Band Program

Music Theory • Age appropriate techniques • exposure to experience all instruments
Our new weekly Modern Band Program gives students ages 4–17 the chance to experience every instrument in the band—drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, and voice—using fun, age-appropriate techniques. Students will build musical skills through rhythm games, pitch activities, theory play, and hands-on learning with real instruments.
The Modern Band Program has 3 classes. Rock Start introduces young musicians to the exciting world of rock band instruments through fun, hands-on musical activities. Students explore drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, and voice while building confidence and curiosity about music.
Opening Act is a small-group band experience where young musicians rehearse together, learn real rock and pop songs, and build confidence performing with others. Students develop timing, listening skills, and stage presence while learning how bands actually work.
Each session follows a structured agenda: Song Lab (music history + theory behind each song), tuning and warm-ups, band practice, song run-throughs, and wrap-up. Students work from a curated pool of approximately 25 rock and pop songs — spanning Pop, Classic Rock, Alt Rock, and Rock & Roll — and rehearse 4–6 songs each season leading to a live end-of-season performance. *Private lessons required*
Headliners is our top-level program for dedicated teen musicians ready to perform at a higher level. Students rehearse as a full band, work through an advanced song repertoire, and prepare for featured showcase performances. The focus is tight ensemble playing, musical dynamics, leadership, and stage presence.This is where everything your student has been building in private lessons comes together on stage. *Private lessons required*
